The practice of Acupuncture is thousands of years old and is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is a system of natural medicine that looks at the whole health of the whole person (not just separate parts or individual symptoms), to find the underlying root cause behind the symptoms to help the patient regain their health and vitality. You are a unique person living in a specific environment with a specific microbiome and set of genetics, and the Chinese Medicine model is looking at all of this with a focus on health regeneration and, more importantly, prevention, not just “sick-care” that masks symptoms with band-aids or medication.
Acupuncture is a safe, cost-effective and natural way to help the body heal from illness and pain. Used effectively for several thousands of years, Acupuncture implements hair-thin needles placed strategically on the body to directly stimulate the nervous, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems. It works directly within the fascia (the connective tissue that wraps all over our muscles), along with nerve fibers to affect the nervous system, and on the cellular level to promote organ tissue regeneration and blood vessel repair (specifically fibroblast cells which release your body’s own biochemicals designed to promote healing). Working directly on all these levels is why Acupuncture is so effective at treating so many different kinds of conditions and causes of pain.
Acupuncture is painless and comfortable, and oftentimes during treatment the patient becomes so relaxed they may even take a nap! Treatments last for about 30 minutes, and can include acupuncture, craniosacral/bodywork therapy and cupping.
Treatments are tailored specifically for each individual to address pain, illness, general health and well being, and/or for cosmetic acupuncture, including microneedling and facial rejuvenation. We also offer Functional Medicine consultations with the option for Acupuncture Add-ons, which is a very powerful and effective combination for whole health changes. Acupuncture Treats Pain Conditions, Acute or Chronic, as well as Autoimmune Conditions, Chronic Illness, Hormonal Imbalances, Fertility, Pediatric care, and More:
Treatments here at Lake Life Wellness Center are a little different than customary Acupuncture sessions that you may have experienced before in other clinics. Our providers are trained and certified in a variety of modalities. Therefore treatments are customized to the needs of the patient and cannot be predetermined before examination. On your first visit we do a full, comprehensive medical consultation and intake, as well as structural examination, in order to uncover the root causes of dysfunction (i.e. we dive deep into the whole health picture, not just the current symptom). After your initial exam and treatment, we’ll have you come back within a week or so to see how your body responded to treatment, and then create a customized treatment plan from there based on your body’s unique response to treatment.
Most treatments will usually be a combination of several modalities, and it can take several sessions to achieve your desired results depending on how complicated your health history is, environmental factors, and how long you have had the symptoms and dis-ease. Every person is unique, and your treatment plan is strategized based on your findings, response to treatment and your overall health goals.
